Protecting the Voters’ Right to Elect an Independent Attorney General in 2014

Following the voters’ ratification of the Charter amendment requiring the Attorney General to be elected beginning in 2014, DC Appleseed worked to preserve the office’s authority and independence in light of that transition. We also worked to ensure that the first election took place in 2014 by advocating before the D.C. Council and supporting a successful lawsuit.
