Please make plans to join DC Appleseed on Wednesday, September 16 at the Carnegie Institution for Science, 1530 P Street NW, as we honor those organizations and individuals who are working with us to improve the region’s health and to bring more democracy to D.C.
Our keynote speaker will be Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the National Institutes of Health and one of the world’s leading HIV/AIDS researchers. We have invited Dr. Fauci to speak because DC Appleseed is working with the District government to develop a plan to End AIDS in D.C. Dr. Fauci will reflect on the history of the epidemic and the current efforts to end it. D.C. Attorney General Karl Racine will also make remarks, and we also have invited Mayor Muriel Bowser to address the crowd. Tom Sherwood of NBC4 will serve as the evening’s emcee.
We will start the evening with a reception at 6:00 pm, and then we will adjourn to the Carnegie Institution’s auditorium to begin the program at 7:30 pm.
