Washington Post: Getting It Right for D.C.’s First Elected Attorney General

In an editorial today, the Washington Post agreed with DC Appleseed that the Council should respect the people’s overwhelming determination in the 2010 referendum to have a strong, independent elected Attorney General. We testified on March 26 and April 9 against a pending proposal that would significantly reduce the chief legal officer’s authority when the position becomes elected in 2014.
